چکیده
The aim of the current work was to analyse impact salt bath nitriding on behavior tribological characteristics and surface microstructures AISI 316L stainless steels. Nitriding carried out at 580°C for 10 h. tribological, structural before after compared. microstructures, characteristics, as well its hardness, were investigated using optical microscopy (OM), X-ray diffractometer (XRD), profilometer, pin-on-disk wear tester microhardness tester. In experimental results showed that a great hardness could be achievable through technique because formation so-called expanded Austenite (S-phase), nitrogen diffusion region. 316 steel process reached 1100 HV0.025 which six times untreated sample hardness. S-phase is additionally expected improvement resistance decrease friction coefficient.

Surface texturing-plasma nitriding duplex treatment was conducted on AISI 316 stainless steel to improve its tribological performance. Tribological behaviors of ground 316 substrates, plasma-nitrided 316 (PN-316), surface-textured 316 (ST-316), and duplex-treated 316 (DT-316) in air and under grease lubrication were investigated using a pin-on-disc rotary tribometer against counterparts of high...
متن کاملBiomaterial Studies on AISI 316L Stainless Steel after Magnetoelectropolishing
The polarisation characteristics of the electropolishing process in a magnetic field (MEP – magnetoelectropolishing), in comparison with those obtained under standard/conventional process (EP) conditions, have been obtained. The occurrence of an EP plateau has been observed in view of the optimization of MEP process. Up-to-date stainless steel surface studies always indicated some amount of fre...
متن کاملMicro abrasion-corrosion of AISI 316L stainless steel
In this study, the synergistic effects of abrasion and corrosion on AISI 316L stainless steel have been investigated using a micro-abrasion test rig. A series of results from abrasioncorrosion tests conducted using the micro-abrasion rig are presented. AISI 316L stainless steel has been studied under both pure abrasion and abrasion-corrosion conditions simulated by either distilled water or 3.5...
متن کاملDetermination of susceptibility to intergranular corrosion and electrochemical reactivation behaviour of AISI 316L type stainless steel
In this study, double loop electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivation (DLEPR) test was applied to determine the degree of sensitization in 316L type stainless steel, where obtained results were correlated with revealed microstructures after oxalic acid test and weight loss measurements of Streicher and Huey acid tests. Best agreement was provided with test parameters which are 1 M H2SO4 and 0...
متن کاملMicrostructure and Mechanical Properties of Cold Rolled AISI 304L and 316L Austenitic Stainless Steels during Reversion Annealing
Microstructural evolutions during annealing of cold rolled AISI 304L and AISI 316L stainless steels were studied. Cold rolled AISI 304L alloy was fully martensitic but cold rolled AISI 316L alloy was partially martensitic due to the higher stability of the austenite phase in the latter. During continuous heating to elevated temperatures, the complete reversion of strain-induced martensite at 75...
